Our staff turnover rate at Mick Family Dental Care is extremely low; it’s not at all uncommon for team members to stay with us for years. That means that you’ll soon become familiar with the faces that work at our practice, so you’ll always have someone that you feel comfortable coming to with your questions and concerns. To get a head start on getting to know the talented individuals on our staff, read the brief biographies below.
Dr. Walter Mick received his bachelor’s degree in zoology in 1983 from Miami University in Oxford, OH. Upon completion, he enrolled at The Ohio State University School of Dentistry, completing his DDS degree in 1987. With more than 30 years of experience as a dentist near Columbus, OH, he continues to exude the same compassion for helping others achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.
Apart from his educational background, Dr. Mick has also completed advanced study programs, one of which is the Mini-Prosthetics Residency with Spectrum Dental Society in 2014.
When he’s not in the office, you can find him spending time with his family as well as running, weightlifting, boating, fishing, and embracing all types of outdoor water sports.
Previously studying at Kent State University in Kent, OH, JoLynn has been with the Mick Family Dental Care team for nearly a decade. She is committed to providing a stress-free experience for the patients of our office and will go above and beyond to assist when it comes to better understanding or dealing with insurance, financing, and payment options.
Married with four grown children, she enjoys running, weight training, boating, water skiing, and reading.
Since 2011, Tessa has been an integral part of our dental team. Not only does she greet each patient as they arrive for their appointment, but she also works to answer questions and make patients feel right at home from the moment they walk through our doors.
Tessa has three children and has been married for 26 years. You can find her engaged in her church, reading, and traveling, all while spending much of her time with her twin sister.
Kate completed her studies at the Everest Institute in Gahanna, OH, and she is CPR certified. She is also a licensed radiographer. As a dental assistant for Mick Family Dental Care, she works alongside Dr. Mick and the rest of the team to help improve her patient’s smiles.
When she isn’t working, Kate is found spending time with her children, Randy and Khloe, as well as her four siblings.
Since 1997, Heather has been pursuing her passion by caring for her patient’s smiles at Mick Family Dental Care. Earning her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry, she is committed to the profession and works hard to provide the best level of care as a registered dental hygienist.
When Heather isn’t at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family as well as boating, traveling, and watching Buckeye football!
